-Airborne troops can seize an objective but holding it is another matter without further ground support. The British learned that during Operation Market-Garden

-There is no military or strategic purpose to seizing the island. Oil already has stopped moving, we would not in any way be able to use the terminal and the damage to the facilities from fighting could be accomplished with air strikes if the goal is to put it out of action for an extended time.

I have no faith the current administration knows or cares about either of these points.
