I don't look at this from an ethical position. I look at it from the position of an analyst. War is being waged against Iran and it would be naive to think that they will say, "Oh well, we'll just let our people die and be overrun again because we don't have the same military and financial resources as our attackers who have a history of overthrowing our governments to control our country and our resources. Maybe the rest of the world will invoke the Geneva Convention and UN Security Council against our attackers and save us." Regardless of their past transgressions they are not going to say "maybe we deserve this".
Iran tried to be neutral during WWII but were invaded by the British. They were one of the first countries to acknowledge the nation of Israel in 1948. But then the US and UK overthrew the democratically elected Mossadegh government to take control of Iran's oil industry and put the brutal dictator Shah Reza Pavlavi in power. The Islamic revolution of 1979 would not have happened if not for the UK and US putting the Shah in power. Then the US encouraged Saddam Hussein to invade Iran and supplied both sides against each other causing the war to drag on and inflicting incredible suffering on both sides. And now the US is at it again this time with Israel because both Presidents are trying to avoid prosecution for their corruption. The Iranian people will never accept any government imposed through force by us.
As far as terrorism, Israel employed terrorism against the Palestinians and the British during their war to take over Palestine and establish the nation of Israel. Menachem Begin was the leader of a terrorist organization called the Irgun. The Zionists were initially receiving assistance from the IRA in their fight against the British but after the Irgun blew up the King David hotel where British administrative headquarters were located killing 253, even the IRA stopped helping them. The Israelis also attacked the USS Vincennes during the Suez crisis. And they massacred 3,000 Palestinian and Lebanese civilians in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Beirut Lebanon in 1982 resulting in the attack on the US Marine Barracks in Beirut killing 241 Marines and embassy personnel.
I don't want more Americans killed over this. I would prefer that the US and Israel didn't illegally attack Iran, and that the US Congress would assert their authority and stop the illegal military action against Iran, also that our troops weren't being sacrificed for a psychopath's distraction. But now that an illegal military operation (war) is being waged I would prefer expensive infrastructure damage over bombing of schools and hospitals and our troops being killed and maimed in a long, pointless, wasteful, and unnecessary war. Maybe if the people in the region who Trump is making money off of really put financial pressure on him (we know he's transactional) he'll come up with a quick end.
Iran is now trying to drag Shia militias in Iraq into the conflict while the US tries to get Iranian dissident Kurdish militia in Iraq to join the fight. In addition to the 6 US deaths in Kuwait, an ammo depot in Irbil Iraqi Kurdistan was blown up the day before yesterday, we don't know about the casualties if any. The sooner this stops the better.
