Despite the archaic reflections on "noble savages," humans have been killing each viciously since we first discovered we could wield stones as weapons. Whether it is Meso-Americans, Gauls, Mongols, or modern Rwandans, the record is clear that homo sapiens contains savagery.

Hell, look at our closest primate cousins. Chimpanzees are brutal to each other.
