Before the scene was definitively secured.

One would expect them to keep him covered and protected as they quickly drag him from the site without posing for campaign poster photos along the way.

But I admit, now that you’ve given me cause to reflect, that smashing a fake blood capsule with one’s hand would seem likely to leave fake blood on one’s hand.
