In reply to the discussion: Ukraine is killing Russians with no shred of humanity. Why should they? [View all]fujiyamasan
(1,860 posts)5. This either goes on until Putin dies or until Ukraine gives up territory
And it depends on who comes to power after Putin. Its not clear if any so called moderates or doves exist, or if theyve all been purged. It appears to be the latter.
Of course even if Ukraine gives up territory, theres no reason to trust Putin in honoring any agreement, or to believe this wouldnt restart a few years down the line (Putin rearms further and relaunches).
It goes to show how delusional he was in launching this war in the first place.
Theres really no choice but for Europe to further assist Ukraine in arming itself. It may actually be in their interests for the US to leave NATO, since Trumps actions primarily benefit Russia anyways.

OP
Be nice if Putin suffered the same fate as Orban and got kicked in the teeth at the ballot box.

The only way Putin gets out of Ukraine is he if he decides staying in might get him killed.

If the Ukrainian estimates are accurate, Russia is losing somewhere between 1 and 2 battalions/day

Russian losses are mind-boggling. They haven't had this type of loss since WWII.

Historically they have never cared about the rank and file soldiers. Just throw them into the meat grinder
