I had to call a local appliance repair for my washing machine. I have worked with these guys and they are reliable and genuinely good people.
As I was writing me a check, the owner… who had done the work because they cut their staff, apologized for the slight rise in their hourly rate and went on to tell me that they would have to raise it again soon because of gas prices.
He said it has affected everything they do… parts are up… shipping…and the fact that they are driving around all day for service calls.
He also said that business in general is slow.
Just one story of a small business in real trouble.
