Friday

The swarms of biting flies have rendered what I call the retail lifestyle extinct in the United States. To survive someone must be in some sort of limiting rewards program or club to get by and if they don’t offer what you want or need. The only option is to compromise or do without.

It’s a profound loss of liberty.
