1. Oh, the UK media will have plenty to make hay with by the time Charles has waved bye-bye to Trump

I'm sure Charles found those physical intrusions ghastly, but I've just watched Trump robotically and painfully haltingly read out a "speech" (presumably written by Miller), which referred to the UK's "Anglo-Saxon courage" and talked about "the English".

Um, Charles is King of the United Kingdom - the clue's in the name. The Scots, Welsh and Irish might have something to say about being labelled "Anglo-Saxon" or "English", as might descendants of the Normans, Vikings and all the other gene pools that make up our beautifully mongrel nation (Charles himself has German and Greek blood in him, and goodness knows what else). Trump himself has pretended in the past to be proud of his "Scotch" blood via his mother.

I might be more rankled by the the whole thing, but his delivery was so atrocious that it was distracting. Not only did he sound like he didn't believe a word he was saying, it sounded like he didn't even understand any of it apart from brightening up very briefly when he hit "1776", seeming proud he'd not been caught out and pronounced it "one-seven-seven-six", or even "one thousand seven hundred and seventy six".

More fool me for subjecting myself to viewing the brief snippet I saw posted elsewhere, I guess.
