Yesterday

One, gas prices stay high and will hurt the Rs in November. But if it stays high afterwards, the Rs willing tun against the Ds not doing anything about it.

Two, Ds win in November and helps lower the price of fuel. End result: back to square one in regards to oil dependency and carbon emissions.

The Ds need to lean heavily towards electrification, especially of vehicles, as well as improving public transit. The vast majority of people driving in cities and between cities can achieve their movement goals by using public transit. Only a small handful are driving because they’re moving heavy things that can’t be easily brought on a bus or trolley. And even then, we need to build public transit that can also accommodate carrying objects in addition to people.

Ds need to expound on the fact that the best way to avoid dealing with variable fuel prices is not using that fuel.
