The solution is staring us in the face. Vote against the politicians backed by big money. That includes foreign money, union money (police, prison guards, etc.) and especially corporations and pacs that hide donors.

Locally, I eliminate the politicians with the most expensive and the most flyers. My local politicians love to hide their affiliation and don't hold debates hoping you don't find out their true agenda until it's too late.
If you have time, look up the politics of the City of Vernon in the Los Angeles area. Very low residential population which the fifedom literally controlled for 40+ years.
