probably is. Consider there were many attempts to explain the results - as there are every election. In fact, the exit polling itself was always considered to be done to help explain the results.

I was hearing from a friend who knew a low level strategist that that person was very concerned we could lose as early as late 2023. In addition, the polling in several swing states was not reassuring.

I worry most about the possibility that a major factor is that the right has gradually taken over so much of the media/information (disinformation) spectrum. This has only gotten worse. I remember being with a British friend in Hawaii. When we turned on the TV in the condo, Fox was on. Her reaction was an outraged " are they allowed to lie?". Well, unfortunately, we all know the answer.

Another concern, though it would be in our favor in 2029, is that the response to if the country is going in the right direction has been low since at least the 2010s. That might explain why the party in power lost all three times. People were unhappy so they voted for change even though they should have known better in 2024! The reason for concern is it seems we have a country where for a decade considerably more than half the country is unhappy.

The only reason I can think of for NOT putting out the autopsy would be if it has logical advise that goes against the interests of the people controlling whether it is released. However, most key trends are already out there as to where we did not do well enough. I suspect that in most states the people running the campaigns saw where their support was weaker than 2020. Obviously, they would have tried to fix that before the election. I would suspect that what these people saw and what they did to try to fix it may be the only real new information that went into the autopsy.
