The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) was established in 1990 to be a means of reporting events that COULD POSSIBLY be associated with vaccine administration. It was always meant to be an UNFILTERED submission system which would then be reviewed by experts at CDC and FDA to look for reports with consistent findings and documentation to INVESTIGATE for any CORRELATION to vaccine receipt. Nothing in VAERS suggested then or now a causal relationship. It was always meant to be an unfiltered repository upon which CDC epidemiologists and FDA regulators could review and as necessary launch an in depth investigation In the event a correlation of concern was identified from those initial investigations, a detailed and rigorous medical and epidemiological review would have been launched to determine what, if any action was indicated--including anything from more refined recommendations on use to actual FDA withdrawal of approvals for the vaccine.

So, yes, the idiots who knew nothing about VAERS but ASSUMED its data was VALIDATED (NO), ACCURATE (NOT NECESSARILY), and CAUSAL (Absolutely NOT) bastardized that useful data system to launch anti-vax conspiracy theories and propaganda. It accelerated during COVID-19 and RFK Jr was a big part of that then, earlier, and certainly now.

But, the lack of understanding of this TOOL for CDC and FDA to interact with physicians and public health departments (providing all types of vaccines), along with what I consider INTENTIONAL malign intent to destroy CDC and the public's confidence in ALL vaccines, is what caused this VAERS-related weaponization campaign to have the impact that it did.

I don't disagree with much of the rest that you posted, Takket, but this is an important point to clarify. And yes, I know the history intensely well.
