Honoring those who came home, but left too much behind [View all]

My dad was traumatized and brutalized by his years fighting WW2 in the Pacific. My former husband was a USMC platoon leader in Vietnam. Both came home in one piece physically, but missing something internal that combat took away. Neither came home as who they once were. Lifetimes later, there was no finding of the missing pieces, which meant their trauma was passed on to their children and wives. Today, I wish for inner peace for our returned troops. Peace and healing.
