Monday

I met a sailor from WWll, gunners mate, heavy cruiser. in the Pacific His job was to repair the gun mounts during battle. He got two silver stars. Twice, the gun went click and did not go boom. Someone had to manually jack out that round and drop it over the side. Guess who? I asked him if he was thinking about a medal at the time. He smiled and said "no".
