Rarely does a week pass that doesn’t find Trump implicated in and promptly sailing past some transgression that would have sunk any previous president. When the Supreme Court declined on Tuesday to hear Trump’s appeal of a $5 million judgment against him for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll, it hardly registered in the national press amid news that SCOTUS had just barely rejected the president’s attempt to erase birthright citizenship from the Constitution. For the past decade, the flood-the-zone MO has largely worked in Trump’s favor, with a few exceptions. The saga of his precious blue paint is one of them.
