He's in poor health and might die before his reputation is sufficiently ruiined. We only turn this thing around if Republicans turn against him. That doesn't happen if he is made saint.

There is the remote possiblility that once he can't threatened people's careers (because he is dead) or rally MAGA's to make death threats, that Republicans will come out of the woodwork to oppose his takover of democracy. But I wouldn't count on it.

It's stunning how early in Hitler's reign his generals were trying to murder him. There really was no other way to oppose Hitler. We still have freedom of the press and maybe a democracy (the midterms will tell) but Republicans in office pretty much aren't free to oppose Trump without losing their jobs, and having their lives and families threatened.

Had early Hitler assassination attempts succeeded, it might have save millions of lives. Or he might have been made a martyr.
