My wife was in our bedroom from 8 pm on consoling both of our little dogs. She had two white noise machines going and soothing music playing on her computer. One of the dogs is a rescue who is about 7 years old. For most of her life she lived outside in the elements and is petrified of thunderstorms and fireworks. My wife had to hold her and comfort her for the entire night. The idiot neighbors are still shooting the fireworks off and it's almost midnight.
We hate the fireworks. It makes the 4th completely unpleasant.

Eh, it's the same as sitting around a fire. You talk, you eat snacks, you watch the kids light safe-ish ones,

Where I used to live, someone would light off a single loud firework at random interval days at 2-3 am.
