The primary guy that is pushing to keep a hand in the selection of the new candidate is the guy who found Platner - his 27 year old college dropout campaign manager (or consultant?) who wants to ensure that his progressive agenda is adopted by the new candidate. I would imagine that both Platner and his twerp manager view this nomination as their chance at the big time, and they may not go easily.

Platner strikes me as the political equivalent of a boy band - a mediocre talent put together and controlled by outsiders to fool the audience that he’s ’the real deal’. It worked until it didn’t.
