don't have a good argument for their position. Like "the bible says so," they think it is something others cannot possibly question or refute. They use it to shut down conversation or analysis of their bad ideas.

Well, they are morons. We are not overawed by a magic word. Their ideas suck, they are dishonest, their morals are deranged, their decisions are foolish, their policies cause harm.
