Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has become the highest profile name yet to formally demand answers about the mysterious health status of ailing Senator Mitch McConnell.

McConnell has been in the hospital since June 14, after being found "unconscious" and given CPR. His team has failed to provide meaningful updates about his health, referring instead to vague statements saying the 84-year-old Republican "appreciates the outpouring of support."

With rumors that McConnell is brain-dead picking up steam on social media, Beshear, 48, wrote a letter asking McConnell's aides to provide a more substantive update.

"Over the last several weeks, Kentuckians have grown increasingly concerned about the health and well-being of Sen. McConnell," Beshear wrote McConnell's team.
