I know that Bob Woodward is not popular on DU, but he described in his book, Peril, how Lindsay Graham coaxed and coached Trump to use his power with his followers to take control of Congress after his 2020 loss.

Graham told Trump that he still had a following and could make a comeback in 2024. In his several trips to Mar a Lago, Graham urged Trump to return to public appearances and use his leverage in elections because the party still needed him.

I believe that Graham was acting as a go-between messenger for the people who became Trump's backers and handlers in this term.

Woodward's book, Peril, was published before Trump announced his 2024 campaign. The last chapter and paragraph warn about the damage of an unleashed, vindictive Trump if he returned to the White House.

Graham worked hard to make that happen.
