9. every month there is a contest submission thread in the photography group

basically you post a link to your photo with a size restriction as listed in the submission thread. for example using flickr you can post a link to the properly sized photo. other online gallerys have similar methods.

if you go to the photography group we're a bunch of really friendly people who can help you out any way we can
the winner of the contest gets to choose the theme for the next month contest and hosts the contest
