It is really heartbreaking to hear that this election worsened your sister's condition.

I, too, was born in 1958. So your sister and I shared some memories because we were of the same age.
One of the most important influences on me was watching the moon landing on tv which your sister probably watched, too. This finally immunized me against any silly assumptions against science.
And we both grew up amidst the efforts to gain gender equality only to see our children experiencing a bunch of rich male (insert invective of your choice) taking over total control of the US and ruining everything.

When my mother died (two weeks ago) we asked the funeral party to donate to a refugee rescue organization, because she was a refugee. Is there a charity your sister would have liked to donate to?
