I've said this a lot, but to repeat myself yet again, I looked up to him a lot over the handful of years I've been a member of this forum. I served as an Infantry Platoon Leader - the same job Pinboy held in Vietnam and I always thought I had a lot in common with him. I don't know if I did, but I would like to think I did at least.
He seemed kind and compassionate and at the same time tough as hell.
I don't know Pinboy beyond the keyboard, but I'm convinced that he made the world a better place. He has given me an example to follow. Although I might think so at times, my life didn't end with my combat experiences in Iraq. There is still a lot I can do to make the world a better place.
