and raised our voices to insist that "Whitaker Must Go!" and "This is what democracy looks like!"

It was an unprecedented public protest by non-Tea Party activists in my VERY red county. Of course, we had our share of shouted obscenities and insults from the local knuckle-draggers, but we mostly ignored them and did get quite a few "thumbs up" signs and honks of support.

As an example of what we are fighting against, by the time my wife and I got home there was already a post on Facebook that our protest had been "broken up" by police because we ("the libtard idiots" ) failed to get a permit. No permit was requested because none was required and the only contact with police was when we waved as they drove past.

There was discussion of making this a regular event, but nothing definite yet.
