my original birth certificate with me wherever I go?

As it happens, the gender I identify with and look like corresponds to the one on my birth certificate, but what if someone looks at me and decides I'm a very cleverly altered trans-gender person? What if, as can happen to the elderly, I start look less and less obviously my gender, and move to that almost neutral-gender appearance that some old people acquire? Oh, dear!
