36. To clear this up (I say this every fund drive, and I've said it more than once this fund drive, but I'll say it again)

Elon Musk and Peter Thiel are not major players in PayPal. Musk was ousted from PayPal in 2000, before DU existed. Thiel left PayPal in 2002, before DU started using PayPal to take payments.

When DU started using PayPal to take payments, it was owned by eBay. In 2015 eBay spun PayPal off into a separate entity, and since then it has been a publicly owned company.

It's been more than two decades since Musk and Thiel have had any connection to PayPal.

Nevertheless, we are attempting to come up with an alternative method of accepting payments, as mentioned in this OP.
