He had virtually no chance against Avlon in another district that doesn't know him.

Add to the distance from the voters of NY1, he's now an Independent. He doesn't have the appeal and the strength to win, let alone campaign.

He's in it for the money. One can only hope that the donors are not going to fall for his ruse.
