In reply to the discussion: Biden's support on Capitol Hill grimly uncertain. A seventh Democrat says he should drop out [View all]lees1975
(6,291 posts)I'll say this at the risk of getting reported, but I see no Democrat of any real influence or consequence who is asking for Biden to step down. I'm a regularly contributing Democrat, a once a month volunteer to register new Democratic voters, and as a result of my work on behalf of the President's re-election, and the party's success in Congress, I am asking those who are making these statements if they are genuinely concerned about Trump winning this election. I think, if you are, then you'd be a lot more careful about speaking out, knowing that your lack of support will discourage those on the fence and will give Trump essential momentum and confirmation for his base.
Just because you are a member of Congress does not give you the right to discount my efforts on the President's behalf, and does not make what you have to say any more important or significant than what I have to say. And I say that the President should stay in the race and step up his efforts to win. He will be the party nominee. If you really care about this country and its future, can we count on your support, in spite of your opinion?
