(5,843 posts)It's easier to sell your car and take public transportation than it is to get rid of your kids legally.
There are cops who try and keep your driving safe and sane, insurance requirements to protect the car and the people you may hurt or the damage when you do, and testing to see if you qualify, as well as laws that can result in your losing your right to drive (although all these are too weak). On the other hand, beating, bullying, starving, mistreating and failing to bring your child up right have supporters.
Unless you are unlucky or do something real bad, you can keep your license almost forever, but there are no laws that stop you from creating more children, no matter how bad the parenting other than when you are in prison.
Bringing up children is far more expensive, far more difficult, and far more a problem than owning a car. Cars have become more reliable but children seem to have more environmentally-caused issues than in the days before pollution was so bad.
The repugs want to force you to bear your child, even if there is a likelihood of medical problems discovered before birth. Then once you have it, they don't want to provide aid for it. On the other hand, they want to build more and better roads in lieu of public transportation to encourage you to drive.
