(7,486 posts)The first one does contain footage that may be disturbing to some. Yes, it's about a Deer hunt but there's nothing visually gory or bloody. There are no 'action' shots - just talking beforehand, and the blurred carcass afterwards with the boy standing behind it.
The dad praises his son, but it's no more than what's said generation after generation. I live in Deer hunting country (northern WI) and it's very common to hear kids (boys and girls) being praised about their first kill. Neither of my sons ever hunted, although my husband did. They never asked to go with him, and he never pressured them to. Sure wish I had a dollar for every time I was out shopping and overheard someone say "Did 'ya git 'yer deer?" during and after hunting season. -sigh-
One more thing. The boy honestly doesn't look enthused about hunting. I've seen plenty of kids up here who get as excited before their first hunt as they got before their first trip to Disney World. I might be wrong, but to me it looks as though this boy was going along with things just to please the old man. It was expected of him, so he did it.
Regarding the audio on the second video, be careful if you're using ear buds. It's a bit hard to hear the officer talking to the dad, so you'll need to turn up the volume. But be aware that the officer filming the conversation has a radio that will suddenly blasts out, and he also speaks, which is really loud unless you keep fiddling with the volume.
