(17,180 posts)40. Last grade I "graduated" from was 6th. Did some college. Taught at universities, worked around the world.
Held top-level clearances and presented to lots of brass and highly-degreed professionals.
For me at least it was luck and opportunity. I looked professional, could talk a good talk.
Once you get inside the bubble, no one looks at your college qualifications.

Yes! UC colleges were free in the 1960s. Now they're $21k per year, just for tuition.
