(60,152 posts)Is the remainder of the $190 million thugs originally cut from House Bill?
There is a LOT the media is NOT saying and therein lies the important facts. For example, funding for cervical and breast cancer were CUT, as was money for SNAP recipients, etc., etc., etc.
To listen to the right wing media talk, we should be jumping for joy. Ask the children's cancer researchers. I assure you, they are NOT jumping for joy over all the media false hoopla.
All that said, I know full well and very much appreciate the Dems did all they could with the steming pile of magat dung they had to work with.
Please listen for what the media DOES NOT SAY...

The bill would authorize $12.6 million out of the 10-Year Pediatric Research Initiative Fund for each of FY2014-FY2023 for pediatric research through the Common Fund. Requires such funds to supplement, not supplant, funds otherwise allocated by NIH for pediatric research. Prohibits the use of such amounts for any purpose other than allocating funds for making grants for pediatric research described in this Act.[6]
The Senate bill passed last night was for only 5 years, hence, a bit over $60 mill.
