I work in tech, hire and manage engineers. Statistically speaking, the H1Bs make the same, or more, on average, than natives for the same roles. Its not a money thing for tech companies. Its purely volume.

But part of the reason we have a volume issue, is because the right wing spent the past 50 years telling Americans that smart people are to be shunned and mocked. That experts and skilled people are actually idiots.. That its better to be a loud moron than a quiet genius. That science and technology are for NEEEERDSSS
