Trump: Inauguration prayer service was ‘not too exciting’

President Trump said Tuesday the prayer service for his inauguration, when the reverend called on him to have mercy on transgender children and immigrant families, wasn’t too exciting.

Reporters asked the president when he returned to the White House after the service what he thought of it, and he responded, “What do you think? Did you like it? Did you find it exciting?”

“Not too exciting, was it? I didn’t think it was a good service, no. Thank you very much. They can do, they can do much better,” he added.

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde made a plea to Trump, who was sitting in the first pew at the National Cathedral during the service, to “have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared.”
