Hatred of science and scientists comes naturally to Trump. Science is all about determining facts, and Trump doesn't believe there is such a thing as a fact. Or, to put it another way, he thinks an "alternative fact" is just as valid as any other fact. And furthermore, scientists tend to be professors in universities. Trump hates professors, and he hates universities.
