In reply to the discussion: 'Crushed' Elise Stefanik 'Scrambled' To Convince Trump To Change His Mind About Pulling Her Nomination [View all]mgardener
(2,000 posts)79. I live in her district.
People are angry.
She will have to deal with the farmers, the seniors and the Vets.
55,000 people in her district are projected to lose their Medicaid.
Canadian firms have already stated they will not expand their businesses due to Trump.
They employ lots of people in this area.
Tourism is down already. Restaurants, stores, motels.
Elise has been calling in the last few months.
She sure had no problem making the rounds of her goodbye tour.
I don't think she will like the mood of the people now if she ever bothered to talk with them.

That's too bad. Her district in upstate NY includes the hometown of my youth; still have lots of relatives there.

She had all the leverage - tell F47 to nominate her or he could not depend on her votes if she was left Congress.
