what you describe with this missive -

A more productive path involves channeling that energy into the less glamorous, but ultimately more impactful, work of political change. This means focusing on developing concrete policy proposals that address real-world problems, organizing locally to build durable coalitions, and engaging in sustained efforts to persuade undecided voters through reasoned arguments and demonstrated competence. Investing time in voter registration, supporting strong candidates in primary and general elections, and participating in local government can build the foundation for lasting change

In fact, some of these groups have been around for awhile (e.g., "Indivisible" ) and have not only focused on registering voters but actually TRAINING those voters on how to run for office (e.g., how to deal with handling candidate petitions, file various candidate paperwork, etc) and are involved in recruitment of candidates. If you don't have the candidates to run (especially those in red or purple districts), then even registering voters becomes meaningless if a GOPer runs uncontested.

Many of the speakers at these events have been Local and National Union leaders and as such, represent thousands and thousands of employees & voters.
