Insane as they may believe this idiot to be, and his tariffs pure madness, they have to voice agreement with him for fear of getting "wished into the cornfield"* by the monster they must appease.

You suspect they'd like to just grab him by the lapels, shake him violently, then try to slap some sense into him. But they can't. Because it's either play the loonie's game or get exiled.

What a miserable world we're faced with -- no good options no matter which way we turn.
