3. I wish someone would study whether there is a connection between chemicals in food and autism.

We have some of the unhealthiest food imaginable for a developed country, thanks to too much sugar, too much salt, and multiple chemicals that other countries forbid. Autism rates in the US have nearly tripled over the past decade. Some of that may be attributable to better diagnostic tools, but not all. Using data from 2021, World Population Review ranks the US as #9 in the world with the rate of autism at 1050 per 100,000. Compare that with the rate of Greece at 809, a country with meals focused on the Mediterranean diet with fresh vegetables and with EU regulations banning several chemicals that the US allows. Here’s a list of US foods containing harmful chemicals.
