9. They'll never give up unilateral control of Hormuz.

Yesterday

It's pretty much the world's economy (for now), their foot on the world's throat when needed, and their only real leverage in situations like this.

They'd give up on nukes before the ability to send the world into the 1800's. I would at least, were I them.

We apparently won't de-mine it, and they know it now, and they won't give up that threat, and we know it. So, a pause at best.

It would be nice if this gives everyone some time to think things like this though.
