We all have self-identity. It is who we think we are and thus involves the deepest elements of our 'must-protect' this ego.

Chaos comes when the self-identity becomes a grab bag of labels and desires, the giving-up of which or attack upon causing all the lashing out actions of fear and defensiveness.

"I am an existent-conscious-presence" is a true statement worth defending.
"I am a (name a team)" whatever label, state, nation, religion, color, gender, conservative, philanthropist, intellectual, etc.
are not labels worth fighting over.

Guns are objects of desire, desires cause actions to seek fulfillment of such desires, actions bringing uncontrollable results.
Gun desire is a mental-moral disease.
