the Constitution no longer reflects who we are or what we think?

Or is it just that the institutions in our society that were designed to preserve our values have all collapsed, including a free press, swamped by social media that is nothing more than a reflection of society, without standards or values, a competent public education system, and even the churches.

We've gone all "populist" against government, not even looking at it as it was designed to be viewed. The free press is gone, swamped by social media and operated as one more profiteering corporate interest.

We've always tried to guess just how long American democracy would last. Looks like about 235 years.
