The US economy would take a blow if the world oil trade was not conducted using our dollars. We don't have manufacturing like we used to, and we don't tax billionaires, our economy is a house of cards.

So we tend to invade countries that produce and sell oil without using dollars. Like Iraq and Venezuela. We would invade Russia too, but they have a big army, and nukes to boot. Iran started selling oil in other currencies, so it was only a matter of time.
