71. Whenever my mom mentioned the assassination, she always said she was watching ATWT.

The Cronkite bulletin is indelible. I’ve seen footage of it, and it is chilling how it goes from soap opera dialogue one second, to earth-shattering the next.

(I was in the next room taking my afternoon nap. I was 3.)
