My mother died the day before Thanksgiving, 1975. We knew it was coming, so there was nothing to cancel, no dinner.
I may have had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or something. I don't know.
It's weird, because until you mentioned this, I didn't realize it's approaching 50 years ago. It still seems, after all this time, that it happened just minutes ago, if, and only if, I think about it, which I have spent decades trying not to do.

understand. lost mine a long time ago. Still try to keep some memories alive with recipes and even serving dishes
