My niece is going to Japan for 2 weeks. She leaves today. [View all]
On her own, that's the way she wanted it. She's 30 years old. Her mom is worried (of course). Tokyo, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
She studied astronomy for a couple semesters at university. Trained to be a firefighter, worked as an EMT. She then got her helicopter license and flies tourists in Banff.
She's a hero in my eyes.
