I recall reading it years ago, and was moved by it. Had no idea of its inspiration by the NHS until I looked it up today to refresh my memory.

In the last 10 - 11 years, I've seen too much of the healthcare industry from the inside (as a patient, not a professional) to have any faith in its current direction. Backlash against the status quo has to occur at some point. Maybe my great-nephew will be part of the backlash. He's a very decent kid. Only someone with a sense of decency would have cried the way he did after learning about his acceptance.

I'll recommend the writers you've cited so if he gets time in between reading medical tomes he can check those out.

BTW, I remember you under your old username in the moderator hot tub. Hope things are generally going well for you.
