You know Prof Hennessy, it occurred to me today that the difference between you and I, (in the framing so beloved by your computer creeps that Yasha Levine has dissected recently in a post about Chomsky), were we both to be computers, you seem to be the kind that needs various thwacks and thuds to get cranking, I on the other hand am a light touch device..
My main mentor knew it. I am quick to take a hint and while I try to conceal it, I even used to be and still am a little susceptible to oversensitivity. We usually assume others think like us, so I used to worry a lot about being insensitive and write various long rambling if, else posts to ensure that only a subset of creeps in this nightmare are attacked. But first of all, these guys are a specific group (mostly in India, with some ties over there where with a few exceptions, I have no idea who they even could be, but they are all a disgrace).

But well..it is easier if over time, constant bullying of you aside (it’s okay…you have money and this is actually a compliment since normally I recoil in horror at the thought of taking to a Google person, which I worry might connotate “asking to be robbed left and right and left destitute”) and absolutely no (that’s not a Freudian slip! And no..cannot afford to be soft) compunction left for these assholes and creeps and a small set of bad actors out there and those rarely people who are truly offended, hurt etc.

I am a humanist, professor. In fact, one reason by now I shun these guys and any of it, is I am wary about appeals to my milder side.

This has to end, die and result in penalties. You can be sure that if I am so draconian in the end, it is because I repeatedly tried to be understanding and that was a mistake and worse everything in life is finite. When you accomodate all sorts of assholes and jerks pushing it, it ends up taking a toll not only on yourself, but on all those close to you and more generally all the least parasitic, hateful and most decent and good people out there.
When all your energy goes towards repeatedly forgiving this crew, which I can estimate well.
No one should pile on for the simple reason that it would hamper my taking these jerks out.

I have never been able to become an educator and at this point at most I hope to be a researcher again and that’s about it.

But I have some instincts of an educator. Specifically one attuned to struggling and confused students as that was me a lot.

So as my brain unsnarls after this horrific experience and I savage our media culture and the internet as a goddamn scourge that has laid human society to waste, I think of the type of online personalities (the rare ones I have no sympathy for, who are the source of a specific kind of human engagement that has been widely destructive. Unfortunately humans are an immitative species more than not. I spend all my time alone and watch the world and learn how humans behave in groups) and it struck me that a type of bullying, hectoring moralizing fraud has dominated internet discourse and usually it is an “empty vessel” to quote one of the biggest influences on my life, Yasha Levine.

It is not only Yasha, many people here on DU and elsewhere and the people I name made me human again after a lifetime of becoming more and more mechanical as one is surrounded by technology and especially the annoying interactive type no one asked for.

I will never be someone who is around people more than the minimum because I get drained around people. So some minimal internet, phone etc even I will use. But minimal is the key.
Whereas you 🫵Prof Hennessy (whom I am personally crucifying facetiously) for the crimes and sins of your godawful field, you are a maximalist.

Your strategy, to the extent that there is even any but pure chaos, appears to be to throw a large amount of clunky mechanical shit around hoping something sticks.

What alarmed me is the idea of the standard trashy operation of AirTel, Google, Jio (the worst..I shun companies now I am back, that treat their employees like shit, putting me in the uncomfortable position of being forced to be cruel to a techie as their disgusting ceo exploits plausible deniability..Jio is a disgusting company..Ambani is an extractive parasite and ugly, classless creep..I was searching for a more damning word, but decided to stick with a classic), Microsoft, Tata etc now being applied to my living spaces.

Where the real world analogue, like these criminal bike harassers on my street (apophenia is driven by a few bonafide criminals who knowingly drive and drove down the street defiantly expressing that it is their right to harass openly as cameras held by the worst people who pervert every ideal and most shockingly in this case almost certainly using a fraudulent “social justice” agenda as much as a rightist one -the self righteous parasite and asshole is on either side a menace beyond all redemption; plus a creepy and criminal data scientist who is street mapping or doing traffic studies; light and sound engineers who noise and light pollute; parasitic “researchers” and self appointed brainless “judges and jury”, the least brainless of whom will be scrambling in alarm for an exit around now I cynically surmise), would be my existence being stuffed with worthless crap the way apps are auto loaded sans permission.
Most of this was likely sourced to our corrupt communist CM-a loathsome man. But recently the BJP got some seats and they or the Congress would be just as bad. All these guys are out for themselves and would sell off the country piece by piece to corporate whores and orchestrate these herds of dim-witted, eternally fraudulently faux aggrieved narcissistic parasites.
I am filled with the righteous vehemence of a preacher 😤..a priest evoking the coming creepocalypse if you will..which is not an apocalypse where creeps are wielded as a force of nature. That was the last 14 years.
It is where creeps finally face the righteous comeuppance they avidly solicited daily.

This isn’t a metaverse. This is not an unoccupied space filled with gullible people willing to shut up and take it.

Or well there is one very aggressive female pushing back as aggressively as these assholes pushed in every day for 14 years.

I have never seen such a shameless, callous, clueless and indecent crew as the one in the last 14 years.

There are two distinct social pathologies I see here..One which is human and forgivable and the other far more insidious and poisonous.

As you require thuds and thwacks and whomps to go “durrrrrr Hennessy clunkily comes to life” I shall explain both to you next.
