My big zoom lens (100--400mm) is quite heavy. For me, the tripod is a necessity. I actually don't mind it.

It's like having an extra pair of hands! I can zoom in or out; I can adjust what I see before I take the photo, since it's mirrorless. And like that. The tripod is very useful and the more I use it, the easier it gets.
